A thoughtful space to explore what has shaped you

Therapy for individuals and groups, with a primary focus on LGBTQ+ lives

A way of working that takes you seriously

People come to therapy for many reasons. Something may feel stuck, repetitive, or harder to live with than it used to. Often there is a sense that familiar ways of coping are no longer enough.

I offer a relational, psychodynamic approach to therapy that makes space to think carefully about what is happening in your life, in relationship to others and the wider context you live in. For many LGBTQ people, this includes experiences of difference, belonging, or pressure that have not always had room to be spoken about.

What to expect

My process is simple, supportive, and designed to help you feel comfortable every step of the way. It all begins with a free discovery call, where we’ll connect, discuss your needs, and see if we’re a good fit.

A discovery call

We begin with a free 20 minute discovery call. This is a chance to talk briefly about what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels right. There is no obligation to continue.

An initial session

The first session gives us space to explore what has brought you to therapy and what you are hoping for. You do not need to be clear or organised. We take things at a pace that feels manageable and respectful.

Ongoing therapy

If we continue, sessions take place at a regular time and provide a steady space to think, reflect, and understand your experience over time. The work develops through conversation, attention, and the relationship we build.

About me

I am Adrian, a psychodynamic psychotherapist working with individuals and groups. Before training as a therapist, I spent many years in senior roles within complex organisations.

I identify as LGBTQ and have a particular interest in how identity, power, work, and belonging shape emotional experience. Much of my work is with LGBTQ clients, many of whom are thoughtful and capable but find themselves feeling stuck, worn down, or repeating familiar patterns in relationships or work.

Alongside my private practice, I also work in NHS group settings with people experiencing complex relational and emotional difficulties. This experience informs how I understand intensity, difference, and relationship.

My approach is relational and analytic, informed by group analytic ways of thinking. I aim to offer a steady, thoughtful space where people can speak freely and reflect honestly.

I am accredited by the BACP and work in line with their ethical framework.

Tailored Therapy for Your Unique Challenges

This is not about fixing you. It is about understanding how your experiences, relationships, and environments have shaped you, and creating space to think and feel differently over time.

Individual therapy
Individual therapy offers a dedicated space to explore what is happening in your life at your own pace. People come for many reasons, including anxiety, low mood, burnout, relationship difficulties, questions around identity, or a sense of feeling stuck. Often these experiences are connected to earlier relationships and to the environments in which we live and work. Our work is collaborative rather than directive. We take time to understand what is happening for you, rather than rushing towards advice or solutions.

Group therapy
Group therapy is a central part of my practice.

Groups offer a unique opportunity to explore how we experience ourselves in relation to others. Feelings of belonging, difference, closeness, and distance can be noticed and thought about as they arise within the group.

For many LGBTQ people, group therapy can be especially meaningful. Experiences that have felt isolating often become more understandable when shared with others who recognise them. Group work is carefully held and thoughtful.

LGBTQ affirmative therapy
Much of my work is with LGBTQ clients.

Navigating sexuality, gender, relationships, and identity can bring particular pressures, especially within families, workplaces, or cultures that may not feel fully welcoming. Therapy can offer a space where these experiences are understood as part of a wider social and relational context, rather than as individual problems to be fixed.

This work takes identity seriously without reducing you to it.

A place we can
both connect

If you are considering therapy, you are welcome to book a free 20 minute discovery call. This gives us a chance to talk briefly and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

I work with clients in the King’s Cross area of London, in Hitchin, and online. We can meet in the way that feels most workable for you.

There is no expectation to know exactly what you want from therapy before getting in touch. The aim is simply to begin a conversation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in a first session?

The first session is a chance to begin a conversation. We’ll talk about what has brought you to therapy and what feels difficult at the moment, without pressure to arrive at clear answers. It’s also a space to notice how it feels to be in the room together and whether this feels like a workable place to continue.

There isn’t a standard length. Some people come with something specific they want to think about, while others are looking for longer-term work. We don’t need to decide this at the outset. It’s something that becomes clearer as the work develops.

Yes. I work in person in the King’s Cross area of London and in Hitchin, and also online. We can talk together about what feels most workable for you.

People come for many different reasons. Often there’s a sense of feeling stuck, worn down, or caught in familiar patterns, sometimes alongside anxiety, burnout, or difficulties around identity and belonging. These experiences don’t usually arrive neatly separated, and part of the work is making sense of how they connect.

Sessions are £80. Fees are reviewed occasionally, and sessions are invoiced monthly.

I understand that things come up. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we can talk about this. Sessions cancelled without sufficient notice may still be charged.

Often people come to therapy not because they’re sure, but because something no longer feels manageable on their own. You don’t need to be certain. An initial conversation is often the simplest way to find out whether this feels like a helpful next step.
